Ben Prochazka is the Campaign Manager of the Save Darfur Coalition, an alliance of over 100 faith-based, humanitarian and human rights organizations whose mission is to raise public awareness and to mobilize an effective unified response to the atrocities that threaten the lives of two million people in the Darfur region. Mr. Prochazka began his public interest career in 1997 as a canvasser and then a canvass director for the Fund. He directed canvass offices in Virginia Beach, Albuquerque, Salt Lake City, Berkeley, Eugene, Pasadena, and Washington D.C. until becoming an Econference organizer in 2000 in Philadelphia. Mr. Prochazka then became Ecopledge’s organizer for the western region, and, from 2001 to 2003, served as the Western States Field Organizer for U.S. PIRG. In 2004, he became the Colorado State Director for the State PIRGs’ New Voters Project, through which nationally we registered 524,000 young voters and made 500,000 Get Out The Vote contacts with students in 22 states, including 48,000 contacts on Election Day alone. Mr. Prochazka attended the University of Illinois.
